Bridal couples were willing to pay more for just about everything associated with their wedding receptions in 2011, according to The Wedding Report, an industry group. Average spending on locations rose 21%, from $2,672 in 2010 to $3,228 in 2011. Spending on food and drinks also increased, rising 10% for food and 12% for bar service. Spending on rentals increased 23%. The only reception-related bill tracked by the Wedding Report to decline was “reception accessories,” which dropped 3%.
