The largest and longest-serving national nonprofit credit counseling network. Its mission is to promote financial responsibility and to educate and counsel consumers with free or low-cost confidential services. It has more than 100 member agencies and nearly 850 offices in the U.S., and assists 4 million consumers every year who are seeking to lower their debt and take control of their finances. NFCC members also are known under other names, such as Consumer Credit Counseling Service; they can be identified by the NFCC member seal.
