Acquisition fees are a typical part of most auto leases, and usually cost between $395 to $995, depending on the cost of the car or truck. Some leasing companies levy the fee as an upfront charge that must be paid in cash. In those instances it is clearly itemized in the lease contract. Other leasing companies add their acquistion fees to the capitalized cost, which is the amount being financed by the lease. In those contracts the fee is hidden and not clearly itemized. Either way, leasing companies do not usually consider acquisition fees to be negotiable.
