There’s a good chance you’re not getting enough sleep.

Rest can be elusive because of fluctuations in weight, hormones and your schedule. Everyday financial worries, like the state of your retirement savings, can have an impact as well.

If you're not getting between 7 and 8 hours of sleep each night, you're not sleeping enough. The quality of your rest matters, too.

While technically many of us manage to get enough sleep, too often it can be fitful tossing and turning or "junk sleep," according to sleep researcher Peter Bils.

A variety of studies have linked sleep deprivation with serious short- and long-term side effects, like impaired thinking, high blood pressure, obesity, stroke and depression.
