How to stand out at work
Many of your co-workers set the bar incredibly low by sending texts or incoherent emails when a clear memo was called for.
And when they do manage to string a few coherent sentences together, your co-workers' communications are filled with slang or inappropriate language or humor.
Stand out by acting professional.
It’s entirely possible to be remembered as the one who always gets it right.
Take some extra time to use spell-check — it’s there for a reason. Avoid slang and unnecessary acronyms when possible.
If an email isn’t urgent, consider saving it in your draft folder until you have sufficient time to write it properly.
Try not to get in the habit of extended text volleys with colleagues. They somehow seem to descend. Pick up the phone or walk to their desk to clarify any crucial issues.
