If you’re looking to refinance, but owe more on your mortgage than your home is worth, HARP 2.0 could help you land a cheaper home loan.
The Obama administration’s reboot of the Home Affordable Refinance Program is now available to borrowers nationwide.
To be eligible, your current mortgage must be backed by either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, the two government-owned firms that provide most of the money for home loans in this country, says Dan Green, a loan officer with Waterstone Mortgage in Cincinnati.
