Interest.com's weekly survey of major lenders, taken May 14, found the average interest rate for a:
- 30-year fixed-rate loan rose to 6.19% from 6.13% the previous week. A year ago it was 6.32%.
- 15-year fixed-rate loan rose to 5.78% from 5.71% the previous week. A year ago it was 6.05%.
- 30-year jumbo loan (for mortgages exceeding $417,000 to $729,500, depending on the city) rose to 7.41% from 7.35% the previous week. A year ago it was 6.56%.
- One-year adjustable-rate loan fell to 6.89% from 6.95% the previous week. A year ago it was 6.05%.
- Five-year adjustable-rate fell to 5.86% from 5.87% the previous week. A year ago it was 6.24%.
