Jen goes on a cost-cutting spree
Sent in for coupons
My spring and summer breakfast is almost always a bowl of Bear Naked Granola with fruit and milk. The company runs a recycling program where you can mail in empty granola bags, and they'll send you stuff in return. I've been saving the bags for about six months, and they've been collecting nothing but dust. So I finally packed them up and sent them off for a $5 handling fee and $3 in postage. Instead of a Bear Naked grocery bag, knit beanie or shirt, though, I swapped my empty bag for coupons for free granola! Why bring more stuff into my house when I can get food for free? This isn't huge, but it's nice to be paid for being green.
Annual savings: $30
