Jen goes on a cost-cutting spree
Haggled with the cable company
After my car insurance success, I scrutinized my next Comcast cable bill and found I was paying about $13 a month for an "HD Technology Fee." I'm not a TV snob, so that's not something I need to pay for month after month. Instead of calling Comcast, though, I signed into my account and opted for their customer service chat. It's just easier for me to write things out than call, especially for things like trying to get a bill reduced. When the agent pushed back, I asked what the cost of my service would be if I nixed cable entirely. Soon after, I had HD Technology for free.
Annual savings: $156
