7 great new cars for 2013
Chevrolet Spark 1LT
Mileage: 28 mpg city/37 highway/32 combined
Aimed directly at city dwellers, the Spark is ideal for covering ground between traffic lights and squeezing into tight parking spots. It's the tiniest Chevy you've ever seen, measuring two inches shorter than the Mini Cooper. It’s cute on the outside and bright on the inside, coming in colors such as Salsa, Jalapeno and Techno Pink. Driving the Spark isn't much of a rush, but it comes with stability control and 10 — count 'em — 10 air bags. We recommend the 1LT version with a four-speed automatic transmission and 84-horsepower, 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine. The upgrade adds lots of electronics you don’t get on the base model, including cruise control, the MyLink audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, satellite radio capability and iPod interface.
