7 great new cars for 2013
Cadillac ATS 2.0L Luxury
Mileage: 22 mpg city/33 highway/26 combined
Cadillac takes on the BMW 3-Series with a truly world-class, entry-level luxury sedan. Its bold styling puts the German car to shame, and its quick, sure cornering makes the ATS an exhilarating drive. (Those eye-catching ads aren’t lying.) Under the hood, we recommend the mid-priced 272-horsepower, 2-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission. Most drivers will be happy with the rear-wheel-drive powertrain included in this price, but hey, if you just have to have all-wheel drive, it’s available. High-tech geegaws begin with LED-illuminated gauges and build to the "Cadillac User Experience," which integrates climate, phone and sound system controls on one touch-screen. We chose the Luxury version because it includes leather seating, more advanced Bluetooth connectivity, memory for power front seats and outside mirrors, and a rearview backup camera.
