6 cheap cars with killer sound systems
2012 Mini Cooper Hatchback
Audio Upgrades: $1,250
Total Price: $21,450
Don't let the Cooper's tidy size mislead you.
The standard sound system comes with six-speakers, a CD player, auxiliary input jack, Sirius satellite radio with 12 months' free service, speed-sensitive volume control and audio controls mounted on the steering wheel.
Pony up an additional $750, and Mini will install its optional 480-watt Harman Kardon sound system, with 10-speakers, including four tweeters and four subwoofers.
We would also spend $500 for the USB port with iPod interface that throws in Bluetooth connectivity.
All in all, we think Mini's premium stereo is the best factory sound system on our list.
Crank this thing up and your eyes will bleed.
