6 cheap cars with killer sound systems
2012 Chevrolet Cruze 1LT
Audio Upgrade: $995
Total Price: $20,345
Did we say these were the best sound systems you can get in a car that costs less than $25,000?
Here's a great sound system on a car that costs just a smidge over $20,000 — the cheapest ride on our list of favorites.
Every Cruze comes with a six-speaker audio system that includes CD player, auxiliary input jack, XM satellite radio capability with three months' free service and speed-sensitive volume control.
There's also Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port with iPod interface and audio controls mounted on the steering wheel.
The premium Pioneer audio system we recommend packs nine speakers into the Cruze, including a subwoofer and 250-watt amp in the 1LT's All-Star Package.
We don't like that Chevrolet requires you to buy a sunroof to get the Pioneer sound system. But at $995 for both, it's still a smart buy.
